We started in 2018 with the purchase of our estate vineyard Hacienda Sequoia and grew with the subsequent purchase of the Brutocao tasting room in Anderson Valley to become the Brashley Vineyards tasting room which also includes the 8 acre Bevel vineyard.

Spring 2021 Newsletter #1

This is just the beginning. There are so many great things happening at Brashley Vineyards and at our newly remodeled Tasting Room. We are also working in the vineyards right now to bring our quality to new standards. The vineyards are a wonderful place to spend time. They are always changing with the seasons but when you look closely its seems to change before your eyes and it is impacted by so many conditions.

Kinda like Brashley...constantly changing and impacted by life! The timing of this note is a little clouded with the sarcasm of this past year but we are all ready for fresh beginnings. Spring season brings a chance to take a breath and hope for the health of all people everywhere as well as the planet we share.

Before we ventured up the curvy Highway 128 to discover Anderson Valley, Bram and I spent several years in Forestville. This is located in the Sonoma County (AVA) but is uniquely part of the Russian Rivery Valley (AVA) and the Green Valley of the Russian River (AVA). We considered a small hobby vineyard there but before that ever became a reality, we drove our Airsteam camper up to the Anderson Valley for the 2017 Pinot Festival. We love Pinot and we spent our first days in Anderson Valley camping with good friends. Over that weekend, we met so many new friends, this is part of the magic of the Valley. The good natured people of the Valley always make you feel welcome whether they are true locals or they are more recent to AV, like us!

What we found is that Anderson Valley is a hideaway. Right in your face but you have to want it. Its not easy to get to, and its not easy to stay supplied, but I can promise you that if you visit AV you will feel the magic of the sunsets, the stars, and the more simple life.

In 2018, we seredipitously found a beautiful spot in the Anderson Valley on 20 acres with a small vineyard. This special place is called Hacienda Sequoia. It has a reputation for its 100% Pommard clone grapes and is known for the amazing winemakers who have tended to this vineyard over the years.

We have started a special focus on the health, maintenance and love for our vineyards in 2021. We are striving to become a great American Craft Wine Brand, called BRASHLEY!

In upcoming newsletters, I will introduce you to our completely remodeled Tasting Room, our new vineyard Bevel, the Swann (not misspelled but a vineyard clone we will miss) song for our Block One vineyard, our amazing Winemaker Ashley Holland, our vineyard dogs Mocha and Luna, our latest release, whats in the cellar now, and other happenings that I hope you will find enjoyable.

Our life has given us this chance to share with you a special place and time in the place we now call home.

Cheers and until May, my best, Ashley
