Anderson Valley AVA
THE VALLEY THAT SHAPES OUR WINES
Anderson Valley: Cool Climate, Distinct Character
Anderson Valley is one of California’s most distinctive and increasingly sought-after winegrowing regions. Tucked between the redwood forests and the Pacific Ocean, cool marine air and coastal fog travel inland along the Navarro River corridor, giving the valley a long, slow growing season. Grapes ripen at their own pace here, developing deep flavor while holding on to natural acidity.
The valley’s mix of marine-influenced soils, elevation changes, and dramatic day-to-night temperature swings place it firmly in the classic Region I/II categories for winegrowing. That balance of cool days and even cooler nights creates ideal conditions for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, along with aromatic whites like Riesling and Gewürztraminer.

UNMISTAKABLE CHARACTER
How It Shows in the Glass
The character of Anderson Valley is unmistakable. Wines from this region carry a natural freshness and energy, with bright acidity and layers that unfold slowly. Pinot Noir shows red fruit and spice with elegance and lift. Chardonnay is textured and vibrant, often with a citrus edge. Even the aromatic whites shine here, with crispness and clarity that speak to the valley’s cool climate.
